Comment Policy

I love hearing your thoughts on the 200+ articles on this site.

To keep our website a friendly and welcoming place, we have a comment policy in place. This ensures we don’t play a role in spreading hateful messages, SPAM, or other junk that seems to continually clog up the interwebs.

When you make a comment, it is held for approval until a real human being can review it. This is why it does not appear automatically on the site.

If you want to leave a comment, please follow these guidelines to ensure your comment gets approved.  

1. Be nice. No name-calling and no bashing anyone for having a difference of opinion. Comments that attack a person or individual will immediately be deleted. If your comment is perceived as spam, it will be marked as spam and follow-up comments will no longer be seen by the website owners.
2. Be real. Please use your real first name when commenting. Failure to do so may result in your comment being deleted or marked as spam.
3. Be link-free. Refrain from adding links to your comments. This automatically marks your message as spam.
4. Be visible. (BONUS) To boost your chances of a comment being approved, create a Gravatar, which automatically links your photo to appear beside your comment. This also lets me know your comment isn’t spam. Having a Gravatar is not a requirement, but it does reduce the chances that your comment gets filtered as spam.

Replying to comments: Due to the high volume of comments we receive, it is impossible to reply to every single one. For liability reasons, questions about personal health concerns will not be answered. Please consult your healthcare provider.

Plagiarism: If we are notified that a comment contains proprietary or copyrighted information, it will be deleted.

Liability: The comments on this blog are the responsibility of the individual commenter. By submitting a comment, you agree that the content is your own, and to hold this site, lilynicholsrdn.com, and all post authors harmless.

Privacy: When you submit your email addresses for a comment, it is not published to the website, nor is it added to any email list, nor is it shared or sold to third parties. It simply verifies that you’re a real human being. The email address may be used by the blog owner (me) to privately contact the commenter and that’s it (extremely rare, by the way). To protect your privacy, please refrain from sharing any personal details, such as contact information in the body of your comment.
